The Mission: The Bay Section of CMEA --The California Association for Music Education exists to promote the advancement of music education, cultivate social and educational interaction among its members, and to assist its members in seeking individual and collective growth as musicians, educators, and conductors.
CMEA Bay Section is a regional affiliate of MENC , The National Association for Music Education, and CMEA, The California Association for Music Education. Our mission is to promote music education in our schools, sponsor festivals and other musical activities for our students, and provide information, training, and an exchange of ideas for music educators.

The Bay Section of CMEA --The California Association for Music Education is comprised of members from the following areas of Northern California:
- Area I is Marin, Sonoma, and Mendocino Counties.
- Area II is Contra Costa County.
- Area III is Alameda County.
- Area IV is Alpine, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne Counties.
- Area V is Northern Santa Clara County.
- Area VI is San Mateo and San Francisco Counties.
- Area VII is Napa and Solano Counties.
- Area VIII is Southern Santa Clara County.
