Building Better Bassoonists

This session explores effective teaching strategies for beginning bassoonists, including students who are learning the bassoon as their first instrument and those transitioning from another instrument. Participants will learn best practices for reed care, playing position and posture, embouchure development, and producing a healthy, consistent sound. The session will also address common challenges faced by young bassoonists and provide practical troubleshooting techniques that teachers can immediately apply in their own classrooms and lessons.
