Baffled by Beginning Bass?

This session aims to demystify the recruitment, teaching, and retention of young double bassists. Topics to be covered include: options for and common pitfalls in beginning pedagogy in a heterogeneous or homogeneous orchestra or band class; strategies for supporting students switching to bass from another instrument; equipment purchase and maintenance recommendations; resources for further learning; continuing to challenge the advancing student….and anything else you are curious about, so bring your questions! There will be time for hands-on playing experience, so come hang out with “L’Elephant”(s) in the room.
