JAMMING TO GHANAIAN FOLK MUSIC: AN INTRODUCTION TO THE ATENTEBEN
Clinician(s): Bernice Kumatse
Join us for an energetic and collaborative general music session inspired by the vibrant rhythms and melodies of Ghanaian folk music. This workshop invites participants to engage hands-on with traditional Ghanaian music through singing, flute (Atenteben) playing, improvisation, and movement. Bring your recorder to explore how this accessible instrument can help bring West African musical traditions to life in your classroom. Participants will leave with authentic resources and renewed creative energy to share with their students. No prior experience with Ghanaian music is necessary; just come ready to play, sing, and connect through rhythm.
