Synopsis: Is your band not ready to play the level of charts you were playing pre-Covid? Do you find yourself in need of well written charts that are more accessible? What teaching strategies from the shutdown do we actually want to keep doing? How has the importance of social justice changed your jazz program? One teacher’s thoughts in regard to these questions and some time-tested rehearsal strategies will be shared by John Burn, Immediate Past CMEA State President/Director of Bands at Homestead High School in Cupertino, CA.
