Beyond “Dreidl, Dreidl”: Quality New Chanukah Music for K-8 Schools

Beyond “Dreidl, Dreidl”: Quality New Chanukah Music for K-8 Schools

Clinician(s): Rabbi Naomi Steinberg

How can I honor Jewish culture in my music classroom and concerts with quality repertoire? Rabbi Naomi Steinberg of Humboldt County has composed and arranged a body of Chanukah songs for young people. This session is an invitation to general music, choral, and even instrumental teachers of grades K-8 to share the joy of Chanukah in the spirit of inclusion and exploration.

We provide practical tools for teaching Chanukah in the classroom: background on Jewish culture and Chanukah, Hebrew and Yiddish pronunciation assistance, songs and arrangements you can use, and plenty of time to sing and move.
