Unlocking Ease: Embodied Self-Care for Musicians
Clinician(s): Jane Rinard
This session is designed for musicians and educators who wish to sing, play, conduct, or teach with a greater sense of ease and freedom. Drawing from the principles of the Integrative Alexander Technique, Jane shares tools that help musicians increase awareness of how the mind and body cooperate, providing pathways to more poised performing and a more joyful relationship with music-making. The workshop introduces key concepts through engaging group games and movement activities, inviting participants to experiment with ways to prioritize their own well-being and sustain their energy. In addition to collaborative explorations, there will be opportunities for individuals to work one-on-one to investigate specific challenges in performance or pedagogy. The session aims to provide participants with a starting point for their own self-inquiry and practical ideas for continued exploration at home.
