Fall 2025 Bay Section Conference Honor Groups

Student Nominations Open: September 1 (Scroll Down for Google Form Links)

CMEA Bay Section offers Conference Honor Groups for Jr High/Middle School students as part of our Fall Conference. This is a wonderful experience for students where they rehearse intensely over the course of two days leading to a performance on Saturday afternoon. The conductors are highly respected music educators from across the state, and rehearsals are open for conference participants to drop in and watch. Our Conference Honor Groups include a Concert Band, a String Orchestra and two Choirs (SSA, and SATB).

Teachers may nominate students in Grades 7-9 for participation.

  • Middle school teachers can nominate students in 7th and 8th grade, and high school teachers are welcome to nominate their 9th graders.
  • Each school may nominate up to 6 students for Choir,  5 students for Band, and 5 students for Orchestra.
  • The nomination process can be done on our website or via Google Forms mailed out to our membership.
  • Students are nominated by their directors in early September and then notified if they are selected by October 3rd. Please see the full timeline below.

Help us by spreading the word about this opportunity to area directors, and getting your students nominated for this outstanding experience!
