Artistic Alchemy: Fusing Pedagogy and Ensemble Programming
Clinician(s): Gregory Whitmore
“Our music rooms are “laboratories of artistry” – full of eager artistic collaborators
(our students!), and replete with musical tools, and a myriad of sonic colors with which to experiment and develop. The teaching and learning centered around the literature programmed each concert season is the primary artistic and educational experience our students enjoy as participants in our music program.
This session will offer practical, relevant suggestions – and the “how to” in order to merge those factors that are silently at work in guiding and shaping our literature selection with our pedagogical acumen in a kind of “artistic alchemy” – in order create a classroom/rehearsal environment that is transformed, artistically refreshing, and educationally vibrant.”
